The church from the south.
The new clock can
be clearly
seen. |
The church was recently been
floodlit -
pretty until the vandals broke it!

Two internal shots of the church showing
that little of the Normal origins are left,
but the church is nevertheless quite an
attractive one internally.

The 12cwt tenor. Yes the frame
could do with a lick of paint!

One of the slate peal boards.
A local ringer was a stonemason and he made several
like this for
churches in the surrounding area. A new one
was recently made for a peal rang in memory of Hubert Summers,
a ringer at Allesley
for over 75 years.
|
The sound control floor - the centre
trap can opened and closed by using a rope in the ringing room. One
louvre is partly open on the side of the tower without
houses nearby. The last complaint we had was
because we rang a peal with the sound control closed! "Leave it open",
said the parishioner in a letter to the ringers!
